Coversations That Inspire Change

Health behavior change is often at the heart of coaching conversations in healthcare. Now more than ever, individuals are looking to their health and wellness providers not only for advice for what to do to improve their health, but for motivation to do it!

Motivational Interviewing is a way of being with clients that creates a safe place to explore and builds on a client’s own strengths and motivations. It is recognized as one of the most evidence-based strategies for helping people to make the changes they would like to see in their lives.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a challenging communication approach to learn and requires a talented and experienced teacher. Jen Packard was trained as an MI trainer by MI founder Bill Miller and has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since 2008. She has trained thousands of coaches, personal trainers, physical and occupational therapists, doctors, nurses and many others in MI.
  • Jen brings a creative blend of strategies from MI and empathic communication approaches as well as concepts from a host of evidence-based communication theories, to transform the practices of those she teaches.
